Manage access to AI features in Slack

Slack offers a variety of AI features that allow members of your organization to summarize conversations, take notes during huddles, and more. Owners and admins can manage access to AI features in their workspace or Enterprise organization to restrict usage or disable certain functionality entirely.


Feature availability

The AI features available to you in Slack depend on your plan:

Conversation and thread summaries

Enterprise search    

Note: Starting July 17, 2025, customers who did not purchase the Slack AI add-on will have access to conversation and thread summaries and huddle notes. To use other AI features, customers will need the new version of Business+ or the new Enterprise+ plan


Manage AI feature access

Pro and Business+ plans

Enterprise plans

  1. From the   Home tab, click your workspace name in the sidebar.
  2. Hover over Tools & settings, then click Workspace settings.
  3. Below Administration in the left sidebar, click   Roles & permissions.
  4. Click Feature access, then select AI.
  5. Next to the AI feature you’d like to manage, click Edit and choose whether Everyone or No one can use it.
  6. Click Save.
  1. From the   Home tab, click your organization name in the sidebar.
  2. Hover over Tools & settings, then click Organization settings.
  3. Click   Roles & permissions, then select Feature access.
  4. Click AI.
  5. Next to the AI feature you’d like to manage, click Edit and choose who can use it: No one, Only specific people and groups, Everyone except specific people and groups, or Everyone.
  6. Click Save.

Tip: To manage access to all AI features at once, click Disable AI or Enable AI in the top-right corner of the Feature Access page.
